Marian Neagul

Marian Neagul is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute eAustria and Assistant Professor at the West University Timișoara. His general research topics cover machine learning, distributed systems, computer networks and operating systems. Lately he has focused on machine learning applied to Earth observation applications, Earth observation platforms and cloud computing, particularly orchestration, deployment and configuration management. Marian has been involved in several research projects in areas ranging from grid computing and cloud computing to digital preservation. His research project work includes building a PaaS - platform as a service and API - application programming interface for cloud applications, model driven development of cloud applications and research of self organising clouds. Marian is also involved in standardisation activities with ESA - the European Space Agency and OGC - Open Geospatial Consortium, particularly in the area of exploitation platforms and Earth observation processing specifications.
